Cruelty of ST

WOULD YOU LIKE A BLESSING?

“All were baptized into Stewart Traill. In every sense of the word: his teaching, his concepts, his view on life, his skepticism of other Christians. Go and learn what this means”.

Blessed is he and blessed is she who is able to get free from the grip of Stewart Traill and the Church of Bible Understanding, and those who are able to overcome his lies and curses will have a great reward.

THE CRUELTIES OF STEWART TRAILL

In the 27 years since our ministry began in 1987, and during the years that we participated in Cobu since 1975, we have witnessed and have been told about many cruelties that were extended by Stewart Traill and we who at one time acted as his followers.

On this page we list some of the cruelties that we've been able to identify.

To become free from the grip of anything negative in ones life, we believe a first step is a willingness to expose them and once identified to lift them up in prayer, to he who has the power to free us from their negative influence.

These are words of freedom and words of peace and redemption, to expose the awful things that devour and keep some captive to the belief that Cobu and Stewart Traill were respectable and honorable, when the truth is that it was a corrupt society and these cruelties show the ungodly things we submitted to, in the hope that we might become free from any residual bondage to the group we were part of, that was led by the tyrant Stewart Traill.

Next to some of the cruelties that we list here, we've also included scriptures that reflect an opposite, contrary, or positive expression related to the negative expression that was experienced or viewed in Cobu. These scripture references are in blue and the RSV (Revised Standard Version of the Bible) was used. Observations and comments are added in brown.

Some brothers and sisters did not even realize how much the cruelties they experienced or viewed someone else experiencing influenced their view of what is acceptable Christian behavior and what is unacceptable.

Some brothers and sisters who left Cobu found that they chose churches and fellowships that had similar legalistic attitudes that were expressed in Cobu.

We hope that including scriptures that show a view that opposes the cruelties that we accepted while in Cobu, and some continue to accept now that they have left Cobu, can benefit you in being able to challenge the thoughts and beliefs that had become the norm for us and have continued to linger in many of our beliefs.

Although many of us viewed similar things, we all may not have seen every example listed in this section. This section has been compiled by the testimonies we've heard that have been shared with us at prayer meetings or emails or those who struggled to overcome the residual impressions made on those who were part of Cobu or the Forever Family during various years. Due to the many contributions by many different people, some cruelties may be repeated due to different remembrances of the same experience, some may be slightly different, but we have no problem being inclusive, rather than trying to edit out one persons experience over another's, so if you recognize one comment being made more than once, it is due to it having been expressed repeatedly.

If you read a "cruelty" here that you witnessed while you were in Cobu or even if you participated in expressing one or more of these cruelties, we challenge you to lift it up in prayer. We were counseled prophetically to lift up the shameful things that devour, that the Lord our God might free us from their negative affects.

If you had experienced or viewed something in Cobu that you feel would qualify as "a cruelty" and you do not see it listed here, please feel free to forward what you feel should be included to our email address: info@freefromthegrip.com, thank you.

While brainstorming the cruelties of Stewart Traill and Cobu we received this prophetically:

And these are words of freedom! And they are words of peace!

And yet your brethren find fault with you and say that, "You're bitter! You're bitter!"

How can words of peace and words of redemption be bitter!?

There is no bitterness in renouncing a tyrant!

And you will post this on your website!

It is not bitterness to renounce a tyrant!

It is not bitterness to renounce a tyrants ways!

It is not bitterness to point out the lies and deceit of a tyrant, but it is freedom!

And this is the grip that we wish you would be free from!

To have the freedom to call what it was, what it was!

It is not bitterness!

How is it bitterness!? Make your case! Make your case and we will hear it!

But you cannot make your case and so you will not respond to us!

For there is no bitterness in freedom!

There is no bitterness in being honest!

Bitterness is held in the hearts that refuse to repent!

Bitterness is held in the hearts that refuse to deal with what really happened!

You are bitter because you refuse to deal with it!

That is how bitterness lies, and it will come out when you least expect it!

You cannot hide from it forever!

Those who point out the flaws and the lies and the deception of a tyrant are not bitter!

Revealing the truth, is standing up for truth, and rejecting the falsehood!

Let all God's people say: "Amen!" [Everyone: Amen!]

Why worry about the robber?

Why worry about the scoundrel?

Why worry about the naive?

The bible is full of God explaining who the wicked are. Are you saying that the Lord God is bitter!?

The Lord God points out the unrighteousness of others for edification and for purity.

How are you to be purified if you refuse to look at the filth that you were tainted with?

And so, it is freedom to be able to look at it.

On the contrary, it is bitterness to defend and to besmear one who is trying to be free.

Because you do not want to be free!

Because you do not want to look at it, will you besmirch and besmear another?

For desiring to be honest!?

For seeking and disclosing the truth!?

This is madness! And it points to exactly why it is a cult.

Starting Cobu, that was a cruelty.

The way that Stewart Traill provoked the brothers against the sisters, that was a cruelty.

The way that Stewart Traill pitted the sisters to make provoking comments to the brothers, that was a cruelty.

The way that Stewart Traill seemed to thrive on sewing discord among us all the time, that was cruel and ungodly behavior.

The way that Stewart Traill set brothers against brothers, and sisters against sisters, without even a care at how doing this was cruel and a poor example of Christian conduct.

The way that Stewart Traill monopolized the time and strength of fathers and mothers, so that their children went without their much needed time and attention, was a cruelty.

The way that Stewart Traill discouraged providing the little children with toys, because we had so little money to expend on what he considered "frivalty" while he indulged any interest he had with very expensive "toys" (camera's, planes) purchased with money we earned, was a cruelty.

~Jer 22:13 "Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness, and his upper rooms by injustice; who makes his neighbor serve him for nothing, and does not give him his wages.

It was a cruelty that Stewart Traill did not know the first thing about how unjust it was for him to involve himself with the intimate choices of those who were married.

It was a cruelty that Stewart Traill made negative slights against husbands in front of their wives and at meetings, like saying that a brother hadn't skipped any meals when he put on extra weight.

It was a cruelty that Stewart Traill made negative slights against women in front of others when they put on extra weight, partly due to stress or having to eat high carb meals on the run.

It was a cruelty that Stewart Traill did not know the first thing about how unjust it was for him to involve himself with influencing every choice of our waking hours.

It was a cruelty that Stewart Traill said that to leave his meeting was us "breaking fellowship" and was most inconsiderate and harsh.

The way that Stewart Traill encouraged the attitude of not extending forgiveness, primarily shown by housing some in a "trip apartment" which made others fear to make any confessions, was a cruelty.

Just having a "trip apartment" was a testimony that there was no forgiveness in Cobu, which was counter-scripture and a cruelty.

Stewart Traill's insistence on making further separations among us, was a cruelty.

Stewart Traill took all of the older brothers, who had been leaders of households in the centers and were well respected by many, and labeled them "the dirty dozen" was a cruelty.

Stewart Traill's inability to recognize how much the things that he approved of were distructive and hurtful to the brothers and sisters and he didn't seem to care, was a cruelty.

Stewart Traill's mandates often were very far from the biblical examples, for instance, in scripture Jesus taught that to have someone be restored to faith was a reason to rejoice, like finding the one who went astry, whereas Stewart seemed to proclaim loudly when someone was weak and took pleasure in open humiliation, rather than giving opportunities to be restored to fellowship, this was a cruel way to conduct our fellowship.

Stewart Traill many times projected on us things he was guilty of, this was a cruelty.

Stewart Traill would get us to wear things that we had no conviction of, yet Stewart would twist our thinking to accept whatever put down that he expressed, this was a cruelty.

Stewart Traill would proclaim loudly that "he was the only one doing right" when all of us were providing all of his financial needs of food, clothing, and housing, this was cruel of him.

Stewart Traill said of many who left, "That they were just bitter!" Yet isn't it a cruelty to oppress, provoke and irritate the people of God in his charge making them bitter and then to turn around and call them bitter!?

When someone has left the group and feels the need to discuss what they experienced that still causes them stress to this day, and others say, "You should just move on." is a cruelty.

If they had the ability to "just move on" don't you think they would have?

Our lives in Cobu stressed our hearts. The scripture says,

~ Mat 12:34 For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

Why would someone prevent another from confessing what is on their heart?

Isn't this what God does ~ listens to us?

Shouldn't we listen to one another, if one has a need to be heard?

Isn't this why there are therapists and counselors?

To tell someone who is hurting to "just move on" is not kind or helpful, it's like saying: "Shut up."

Interesting that they have no insight into how you can accomplish this "just move on" counsel.

Interesting to note that those with the loudest request of telling others to "just move on" are the very ones who've been the most active on the xcobu sites ~ if they've "just moved on" themselves, why do they have such a need to stay connected on the "xcobu" sites?

~ Mat 15:14 Let them alone; they are blind guides. And if a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit."
~ Deu 27:18 "'Cursed be he who misleads a blind man on the road.'

If you are not willing to listen to someone in need of your ear, what right do you have to tell them to do something that they haven't thus far had the ability to accomplish on their own?

Anyone who has a need to be heard please send us an email at : info@freefromthegrip.com and we will be more than willing to listen to whatever you have a need to share.

And we will lift up to God the troubles of your heart, as he has been most faithful in removing the stresses that we have had the faith to confide.

~ Rom 8:38,39 For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

~ Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

It was a cruelty that Stewart Traill did not know the first thing about Jesus, who extended rest for our souls, yet under Stewart Traill none of us knew any rest, and our souls were bereft of peace under Stewart Traill's obligatory lifestyle.

It is and was cruel of Stewart Traill to expect everyone to have no marriage, no children, no time to invest in the things that we were interested in, just so that we could be slaves of Stewart's interests.

It is and was cruel of Stewart Traill to live in luxury, while we lived in roach and rat infested apartments that had lousy locks, even the world looked down on him for this.

~ Hos 12:7 A trader, in whose hands are false balances, he loves to oppress.

It is and was cruel of Stewart Traill who taught that it was better to be right than loving, when the Apostle Paul taught in:

~ 1 Co 13:1 that without love you're just a noisy gong

It is and was cruel of Stewart Traill to forbid marriage and relationships in the fellowship which caused grown men to have testicular pains that their doctors counseled them that they would have no relief from unless they masterbated, which in Cobu was considered to be "physical sin" and the main reason some were confined to the trip apartment.

~ 1Co 9:5 Do we not have the right to be accompanied by a wife, as the other apostles and the brothers of the Lord and Cephas?

It is and was cruel of Stewart Traill to curse relationships that caused the sisters not to have any trust in the affections that brothers wanted to extend to them.

It is and was cruel of Stewart Traill to curse relationships, encouraging sisters to make derrogatory comments to the brothers to further his end game, the biggest game player of us all.

It is and was cruel of Stewart Traill to curse relationships that caused a host of hurt, discouragement, frustration, irritation, and unhappiness in almost every aspect of our lives.

~ 2Co 3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

~ 2Co 1:19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, whom we preached among you, Silvanus and Timothy and I, was not Yes and No; but in him it is always Yes.

It is and was cruel of Stewart Traill to curse relationships that was one of the "chips" that made it seem as though "Stewart was blessed by God" and we were not, since he not only had a wife and children, but all these attractive sisters living with him.

~ 1Co 9:5 Do we not have the right to be accompanied by a wife, as the other apostles and the brothers of the Lord and Cephas?
~ Mt 23:4 They bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with their finger.

It is and was cruel of Stewart Traill to curse relationships because he wanted us to be available to keep working and making money for his lusts and interests.

~ Gal 2:4 But because of false brethren secretly brought in, who slipped in to spy out our freedom which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage--

It is and was cruel of Stewart Traill to curse relationships and fool everyone into thinking that he was a godly man, yet he has proven to be a very worldly man.

It is and was cruel of Stewart Traill to curse relationships when he cared nothing for anyone elses needs or interests.

~ 1Pe 2:16 Live as free men, yet without using your freedom as a pretext for evil; but live as servants of God.

It is and was cruel of Stewart Traill to prevent marriage, when in the scripture entering heaven was compared to entering marriage ~ which since it was prevented, it was an aspect of the joy God has for us that was not made available to we who were in Cobu, who "supposedly" were "God's best."

~ Mt 25:40 And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.'

~ Rom 14:23 But he who has doubts is condemned, if he eats, because he does not act from faith; for whatever does not proceed from faith is sin.

Stewart Traill put us in the position that anything we did without his personal stamp of approval made us feel as though we had sinned, because we only had faith in what he approved, this was a cruelty.

~ Heb 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please him.

Taking a step in faith has to do with taking steps outside of what is comfortable and taking steps into "the unknown" ~ yet everything we did in Cobu were the things that Stewart Traill directed us "to do" ~ this is not faith, this is walking according to someone elses directives ~ because Cobu was a place where we were expected to follow Stewart Traill's guidlines, the whole basis of Cobu was a place where faith did not exist and therefore it was impossible to please God in Cobu, which was a great cruelty.

Furthermore, it can also be considered "a godless society" when one is listening to the thoughts, opinions, and counsel of a man and not God; even if the group spends a lot of time reading and study the word of God or the Bible, doesn't make the society a godly one.

~ Heb 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please him. For whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
~ Mat 7:22 On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?'
~ Mat 7:23 And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you evildoers.'

Conclusion: Cobu was a "faithless society" because everyone was walking and talking according to what "Stewart said was appropriate" or "approved." this was a cruelty

a newly married sister, just in the blush of her wedding and was in a car accident, she lost her husband instantly, she wakes up in the hospital fighting for her own life, unable to even go to her husbands funeral and the comfort she received from Gayle Traill, "Now, now, you didn't even know him that long." This is mean spirited, unkind, pathetic, thoughtless, heartless, cold, insensitive ~ yet this was typical of the way we were treated by God's "supposed best" the sister that Stewart Traill claimed was "near perfect" yet the way she spoke was another cruelty.

When one of the sisters I was close to was about to give birth and was in labor, she called Gayle Traill, who she had been talking with regularly and thought she was a friend who would be supportive while going through something challenging and all Gayle did was ask, "Are you reading the workbooks to her?" The sister was shocked and thought that Gayle must not know what one goes through when they are about to give birth, but they certainly are not about to listen to or read a religious workbook. The sister who called said, "NO! She's having a baby, we can't read the workbook now! That's not going to help!" Gayle started berating her, saying this is what you should be doing. The sister, realizing how obsurd her advice was admitted: "I wish I hadn't even called."

Then Gayle said, "Oh, so now you're mud slinging." The sister was stunned quiet and said she had to go and never called Gayle again. So eye opening, who was insulting who? Gayle had nothing to offer and when called out on it, became accusatory. Yet, Gayle was considered, according to Stewart Traill at his notorious "no Grace meeting" or "I missed grace meeting" or "God hid grace from me, meeting" that Gayle was "practically perfect," ~ Not!

Gayle Traill was known to be extremely condescending to everyone. She came off very hauty, snotty, and as if "she was better than everyone else." ~ "the gold standard"

It was a cruelty that brothers and sisters turned in their entire earnings and were only given 10 dollars a week allowance for ourselves as we worked to support Stewart Traill's empire ~

~ Jer 22:13 "Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness, and his upper rooms by injustice; who makes his neighbor serve him for nothing, and does not give him his wages;
~ Rom 4:4 Now to one who works, his wages are not reckoned as a gift but as his due.

It was a cruelty that while we labored to support the entire church and all of it's needs: including Stewart Traill's rents, food, clothing, property taxes for all owned buildings, and aircrafts purchased; Stewart Traill then turned to us and said that we were scum, and sadly, we did not have the self esteem to oppose his cruel slights and harsh jestures.

~ Pro 10:18 He who conceals hatred has lying lips, and he who utters slander is a fool.

It was cruel of Stewart Traill to insist that we invest in a foreign country that we knew nothing about.

It was cruel of Stewart Traill to invest the funds that we earned on things for himself rather than on making the lives of those in the flock better.

~ Lev 19:13 "You shall not oppress your neighbor or rob him. The wages of a hired servant shall not remain with you all night until the morning.

It was cruel of Stewart Traill to call meetings and then just sit there watching all of us meander around while we waited for him to lead us, when in truth he did not want to lead, but by his actions proved that his main interest was to rob from us the funds that we earned.

~ Pro 21:6 The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a fleeting vapor and a snare of death.
~ Pro 21:2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the LORD weighs the heart.

~ Psa 24:3,4 Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false, and does not swear deceitfully.

~ Pro 6:12-15 A worthless person, a wicked man, goes about with crooked speech, winks with his eyes, scrapes with his feet, points with his finger, with perverted heart devises evil, continually sowing discord; therefore calamity will come upon him suddenly; in a moment he will be broken beyond healing.

~ Jas 4:11 Do not speak evil against one another, brethren. He that speaks evil against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.

It was cruel of Stewart Traill to humiliate Larry A and Karen S in front of everyone at a Big Meeting, just because they had the faith to enter into a relationship with each other ~ even though after their humiliation they bearly had the faith to lift up their heads among us. It caused Larry to leave and Karen was never the same. Larry's own mom called a brother and said that she didn't know what kind of Bible teacher Stewart Traill claimed to be, but the open humiliation of her son was unforgivable and harsh beyond words.

~ Pro 3:30 Do not contend with a man for no reason, when he has done you no harm.
~ Mic 2:8 But you rise against my people as an enemy; you strip the robe from the peaceful, from those who pass by trustingly...

Stewart Traill had no right to openly humiliate this couple who he berated and crushed. A gentle and kind brother and the sister he was attracted to. This was probably the worst example of the abuse of authority that Stewart did without remorse. He seemed to make an example of them, that others should take note and not take a chance in faith and begin a relationship or they too might be treated harshly in front of everyone in the fellowship. It was an example of depraved indifference to so brazenly destroy the faith and confidence of a brother and sister, for acting on the desire of their own hearts.

~ Pro 13:12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life.

~ Eze 34:4 The weak you have not strengthened, the sick you have not healed, the crippled you have not bound up, the strayed you have not brought back, the lost you have not sought, and with force and harshness you have ruled them.

It was cruel of Stewart Traill to openly humiliate and condemn Rick and Mary after their wedding at a Big Meeting, making a harsh judgment instead of commending their act of faith. They were a couple since they were in high school, got saved together and after years of giving their strength and money earned to Cobu they decided to get married. They had a simple outdoor ceremony attended by their families and many brothers and sisters, yet when they attended their first meeting after they got married Jimmy made some gesture toward them and right away Rick and Mary both stood up and announced that they had gotten married, and seemed a bit nervous as anyone would be with the way that Stewart seemed to live to make our lives more stressful.
Instead of making a kind gesture or giving them any words of encouragement Stewart Traill said something like, "All I know is if the man isn't proud about it and if the sister is seems ashamed about it, there has to be something wrong with it."
Stewart was notorious for making harsh judgments on everyone but himself.
Stewart wouldn't commend something that he feared others would follow suit and get married too.
For a man who wanted everyone to look up to and respect him, he didn't seem to have a kind bone in his body, and his words were sour about anyone but himself.

~ Lam 3:36 to subvert a man in his cause, the Lord does not approve.
~ 1Co 7:28 But if you marry, you do not sin, and if a girl marries she does not sin.
~ Pro 3:30 Do not contend with a man for no reason, when he has done you no harm.

~ 1Ti 6:9-10 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and hurtful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is the root of all evils; it is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced their hearts with many pangs.

It was cruel of Stewart Traill to say that if we reached a financial goal that you would give us a day off, when he knew it was too high and could never be reached.

~ Psa 105:14-5 he allowed no one to oppress them; he rebuked kings on their account, saying, "Touch not my anointed ones, do my prophets no harm!"

It was cruel that "some older brothers with tender consciounces" who felt compelled to confess their temptations to sin, but did not, ended up being forced to live in a trip apartment and be labeled "a trip" for their entire Christian life! Is this not cruel!

It was cruel that when we had success with leading people to Jesus, Stewart would mock us in front of our lambs and turn them away from trusting us, stealing their trust and putting us down in front of them and everyone else.

It was cruel that after doing that he would say that "WE were killing the lambs!"

It was cruel that when we had done something that gave us the feeling of "pleasing God" Stewart had a nasty way of crushing our joy, and making us wish we hadn't brought anyone to the meeting to begin with.

It was cruel that Stewart made people feel that if they didn't work hard they were not faithful, while he was the only one among us who didn't carry his own load.

It was cruel of Stewart to teach us to only see the negative parts of the scripture as it related to us.

It was cruel of Stewart to make us feel that we needed to be close to him to be faithful, but then would never allow most of us any access to him at all.

It was cruel of Stewart to accept all of our hard earned money, but he didn't even know most of us by name.

~Jer 22:13 "Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness, and his upper rooms by injustice; who makes his neighbor serve him for nothing, and does not give him his wages.

It was cruel of Stewart to make up names for some of us, and use his "made up names" when he referred to us at meetings.

It was cruel of Stewart to monopolize all of the most attractive women in our fellowship, lavishing his attentions on them, while preventing them from getting to know other brothers.

It was cruel of Stewart to walk into meetings with the women we had interest in and crushes on.

It was cruel to turn the sisters hearts against the brothers.

It was cruel of Stewart to encourage the sisters to make derogatory comments toward the brothers, provoking mischief and irritation.

It was cruel of Stewart to make the brothers think that the sisters were always trying to get over on them.

It was cruel of Stewart to cut down the brothers when talking to the sisters.

It was cruel of Stewart to cut down the sisters when talking to the brothers.

It was cruel of Stewart to make the sisters believe that only he was man enough for them.

~Jer 22:13 "Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness, and his upper rooms by injustice; who makes his neighbor serve him for nothing, and does not give him his wages.

It was cruel of Stewart to make us mistakenly think that it was what God wanted from us.

It was cruel of Stewart to always live five or more levels above us.

It was cruel of Stewart to live in a former governors home in Princeton, while we lived in "Hell's Kitchen" (before it was upgraded) or in Woodruff Brooklyn, a dangerous and filthy place.

It was cruel of Stewart to buy the Princeton house even though the brethren didn't approve it, yet as usual, Stewart Traill, pandering to his own flesh, once again, got his own way, at our expense, since he brought no income to the "general fund."

It was cruel of Stewart to sell the 515 NY City apartment building out from under everyone living there, kicking the sisters to the curb and then laughing at their misfortune.

It was cruel of Stewart to make the 515 sisters feel that it was their fault that they were homeless, though none of them had any control over their plight.

It was cruel of Stewart to expect the 515 sisters who were turned out to the street with their belongings, to find "other accomodations" when he had all the money we earned and we were given miniscule "allowances" from which no one could obtain proper housing.

It was cruel of Stewart to encourage these unChristian and unholy confessions from young people who were easily manipulated against common sense.

It was cruel of Stewart to state that Cobu was "God's best" when it was far worse than any Christian church in any city.

It was cruel of Stewart to turn Cobu into a money machine to fill Stewarts treasure chest.

~ Mt 21:12, 13 And Jesus entered the temple of God and drove out all who sold and bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons. ~ Mt 23:4 They bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with their finger.

It was cruel of Stewart to force young Christians to have to decide if they were going to hell or not by making them state aloud that they were chosing to "jump into the lake of fire" just because they couldn't find it within themselves to continue to work at the hopeless situation that was Cobu.

It was cruel of Stewart to instill "a hive mentality" and to use "undue influence" on us in countless ways.

It is cruel of Stewart Traill to castrate the brothers by taking away their manhood, by not allowing the men to lead, not allowing men to keep the funds they earned, not allowing men to make their own discisions finanacially, not allowing them to have their own ideas, putting them down in front of the sisters time and time again, so that they doubted their own self worth.

~ Pro 18:22 He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the LORD.

It was cruel of Stewart to flaunt before the body his second wife Gayle, and his half-wives, and the many young women who were subject to Stewarts "special attention."

It was cruel of Stewart to make it a Biblical mandate to "crucify the flesh" in the name of the Lord, and equate that with not dating or marrying, while he indulged his flesh continually.

It is and was cruel of Stewart to keep God's people captive to himself, to make them serve his whims, when it was in his power to release them.

It is and was cruel of Stewart Traill to put someone down, time and time again, and to get them to actually believe that what you said about them was as if the Lord were speaking it to them through you.

It is and was cruel of Stewart to insist upon perfection, when the only perfect person that walked the earth was Jesus Christ, and Stewart Traill is nothing like him.

It is and was cruel of Stewart to make everyone go out into severe weather to do "zeal pills" witnessing or hand out tracts, only to bring the unsuspecting into our misfortune, which was the constant service of a cruel man, who only took thought for himself.

~Jer 22:13 "Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness, and his upper rooms by injustice; who makes his neighbor serve him for nothing, and does not give him his wages.

It was cruel to the brothers to have Gayle dressed in spandex , draped across Stewarts lap, on a hotel bed, and to then tell the brothers: "You could have this too, if only you had spare zeal!"

It was cruel of Stewart to use the starving children in Haiti as a beating club, to keep us focused on making more money; that Stewart had the final say in how it was spent.

It was cruel of Stewart to tell us that "Jesus never had it so good" referring to the lofts, when we had legitimate complaints about our living situations.

It was cruel to have brothers discipline his child, who equated "crying" with being "broken" when Stewart "gave harder beatings if his children cried."

It was cruel of Stewart to even let others take a hand to his children.

It was cruel for Stewart to draw us to himself, when we were impressionable young people.

It was cruel that we were not allowed to reference the outside world, only the Bible or the approved reading material.

It was cruel to put burdens and tasks that he requested of us, that he would never do!

It was cruel that we had no way to express ourselves, our talents and our abilities.

It was cruel to play husbands against the wives, brothers against the sisters.

It was cruel to parade a harem of sisters in front of everyone, who brothers wanted to date, but were practically unable to even speak to.

It was cruel of Stewart not to talk to his own children when they called for him, but to make them talk to "the appointed sister" when all they wanted to do was talk to their dad.

It was cruel that we couldn't honestly express ourselves.

It was cruel to make others feel less valuable.

It was cruel to point out others weakness in front of everyone.

It was cruel that we were made to stay up for meetings when we had to wake up early the next morning to go to our jobs, when Stewart didn't have that obligation and could sleep as late as he wanted.

It was cruel that we couldn't rest when we needed to.

It was cruel to make us feel guilty for resting.

It was cruel to make everyone work for nothing, with no vacations, when Stewart took plenty of them, to the Bahamas, to Canada, wherever he wanted to fly of to, with whoever he chose to take with him.

It is cruel to use the Lord, to get others to do what you wanted us to do for yourself.

~ Psa 71:4 Rescue me, O my God, from the hand of the wicked, from the grasp of the unjust and cruel man.
~ Psa 144:11 Rescue me from the cruel sword, and deliver me from the hand of aliens, whose mouths speak lies, and whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.

~ Pro 12:10 A righteous man has regard for the life of his beast, but the mercy of the wicked is cruel.
~ Pro 28:16 A ruler who lacks understanding is a cruel oppressor; but he who hates unjust gain will prolong his days.

You were cruel Stewart Tanner Traill when you provoked those in your charge.

You were cruel Stewart Tanner Traill when you, blammed God for your inability to recognize the Grace of God, who is Jesus.

You were cruel Stewart Tanner Traill when you subjected young women in your group to your "special attention."

You were cruel Stewart Tanner Traill when the young women in your group, who are subjected to you "special attention" get put aside when you move on to someone else.

~ Job 6:14 "He who withholds kindness from a friend forsakes the fear of the Almighty.
~ Pro 21:21 He who pursues righteousness and kindness will find life and honor.
~ Hos 4:1 Hear the word of the LORD, O people of Israel; for the LORD has a controversy with the inhabitants of the land. There is no faithfulness or kindness, and no knowledge of God in the land;

~ Zec 7:9, 10 "Thus says the LORD of hosts, Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy each to his brother, do not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the sojourner, or the poor; and let none of you devise evil against his brother in your heart."
~ Act 28:2 And the natives showed us unusual kindness, for they kindled a fire and welcomed us all, because it had begun to rain and was cold.

Yet Stewart showed no kindness and had no pangs of conscience when he sold 515 out from under the sisters who cried in the street with no place to go, such a cruelty. Would that Stewart, in all of his commendations of himself, had the ability to demonstrate and act of Christian charity towards those who provided every need of his and all his family for years and years and years, without any approval, thanks, joy or the extension of any verbal blessing.

~ Eph 2:4-7 But God, who is rich in mercy, out of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with him, and made us sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
~ Col 3:12 Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, and patience...
